Effective date: 25 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Learnwild collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you visit learnwild.co.za, create an account, use our support services, download a free resource or purchase a digital learning pack.

Learnwild is designed for parents, caregivers and educators. We aim to collect only the information we need to provide the service, process orders, support families and improve the website.

1. Who we are

Learnwild is operated by a sole proprietor, who is the responsible party for this website and its customer services. There is no separate Information Officer. For privacy questions, requests or concerns, contact info@learnwild.co.za.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, password and any optional profile details you choose to provide.
  • Order information: contact details, products purchased, order number, amount, payment status, download permissions and customer-support history.
  • Payment information: payments are processed through the selected payment provider, currently PayFast. Learnwild does not intentionally store full card or banking details.
  • Support and feedback: information you provide when contacting us, asking for product help or sharing feedback.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, approximate usage patterns, referral information, timestamps and cookie choices.
  • Information about children: Learnwild is intended for adults to use with children. We do not need a child’s full name, email address or other identifying information to provide our products. Please submit feedback through a parent or caregiver and avoid including unnecessary information about a child.

3. How we use information

  • to create and manage customer accounts;
  • to process orders, payments, refunds and protected digital downloads;
  • to provide customer service and resolve technical or product questions;
  • to keep the website, accounts, payments and downloads secure;
  • to understand broad, aggregated customer behaviour and improve products, content and the customer journey;
  • to send newsletters or promotional information only where permitted and, where required, where you have opted in; and
  • to meet legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and regulatory obligations.

We may use non-personal, anonymised or aggregated information to understand which learning areas are useful, how visitors use the site and where the experience can be improved. This reporting is not intended to identify individual customers, and we do not sell personal information.

4. POPIA and lawful processing

We process personal information in accordance with applicable South African privacy law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Depending on the activity, processing may be necessary to perform a contract with you, to comply with a legal obligation, with your consent, or for a legitimate business interest that does not override your rights.

Where we ask for consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was already lawful or information that must be retained for legal or contractual reasons.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to operate the website, remember necessary settings, maintain the shopping cart and support secure checkout. Where enabled, non-essential analytics or marketing cookies help us understand website performance and improve relevant content.

Our cookie-consent tool allows you to accept, reject or customise non-essential cookies. Disabling essential cookies may affect account, cart or checkout functionality. We may use aggregated or de-identified analytics to understand customer needs; this does not mean that we sell or trade your personal information.

6. Service providers and sharing

We may share the minimum information necessary with service providers that help us operate Learnwild, including website hosting and WordPress/WooCommerce providers, PayFast for payment processing, email and SMTP providers, security and backup providers, and analytics or cookie-consent providers where enabled.

These providers may process information on our behalf and must use it only for the services they provide, subject to their own terms and privacy obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law, to prevent fraud or abuse, to protect the website and customers, or in connection with a lawful business reorganisation.

7. International processing

Some technology or payment providers may process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and appropriate contractual, technical or organisational safeguards, as required by applicable law.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Digital product files are intended to be delivered through protected WooCommerce download links rather than as unrestricted public downloads. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a strong password and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account activity.

9. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide account and download access, to resolve support matters, to meet tax and accounting requirements, to establish or defend legal claims, or to comply with another legal obligation. When information is no longer required, we will delete it, anonymise it or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
  • provide access to personal information we hold;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete information where we are no longer authorised or required to retain it;
  • object to processing on reasonable grounds;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • stop sending direct marketing communications.

Send requests to info@learnwild.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may need to be retained where the law requires it.

If you believe your personal-information rights have been infringed and the matter has not been resolved, you may contact the South African Information Regulator through its official complaints page.

11. Accounts, orders and digital downloads

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. Learnwild digital products are supplied for the permitted personal or household use described in the product and purchase terms. Download links should not be shared publicly or redistributed. Product access limits, including the number of downloads and the period available after payment, are shown in the applicable order or download information.

12. Direct marketing

We will not use your personal information for direct electronic marketing where this is prohibited by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time using the unsubscribe option in the message or by contacting info@learnwild.co.za. Transactional messages about orders, payments, downloads or support may still be sent when necessary to provide the service.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a material change is made. Please review this page periodically.

14. Important note

This policy is written for Learnwild’s current digital-product website and is intended to explain our information practices in clear language. It should be reviewed against the final legal entity details, service-provider contracts and operational processes by a South African privacy professional before full commercial launch.
